Our People

Ian Buckle, Founder

With over 30 years’ experience in the UK and global respiratory care sector, Ian brings a wealth of knowledge, experience, and contacts to Sentinel Respiratory. Since embarking on a career as a home oxygen engineer, Ian has led product and market development projects across the globe for multinational healthcare corporations, as well as innovative small and medium sized enterprises.

Ian has driven many significant changes in respiratory care, including the design of an innovative Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) and home non-invasive ventilation (NIV) service, managing patients’ equipment at home. He was also involved in the redesign of the UK Home Oxygen Service in 2006.

As part of a team at Air Products Healthcare, Ian helped introduce life-changing innovation for patients: a lightweight, high pressure, integral valve cylinder enjoyed today by patients across the UK.

Our people have extensive knowledge and understanding of respiratory care, working with clinicians and other professionals to develop a service that’s fit for the future.

Ian Buckle, Founder

Briony Warren, Clinical Specialist – Registered Nurse

A respiratory nurse specialist, Briony originally worked in the NHS as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) nurse. For the past 18 years she has been working in both the commercial world and the NHS, returning to the NHS to run the Home Oxygen Assessment and review service for part of Nottinghamshire.

Most recently, Briony has been setting up a cancer service to identify patients earlier in the disease cycle and in doing so has identified savings to the Integrated Care Board (ICB) in excess of £300,000.

Jill Smith, Clinical Advisor

Jill is a former nurse with a respiratory specialism. She worked in industry for over 40 years as a specialist nurse advisor, business development specialist, and national sales manager for DeVilbiss Healthcare and Air Products Healthcare.

Jill has an acute focus on what is best for patients but with a keen understanding of the need to manage NHS budgets.
